Tree nurseries bring life back to refugee camps

For the tens of thousands of refugees who have fled conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo and taken refuge in Goma, the next challenge is often to continue feeding your family given the rare opportunities to find a reliable source of income.

Environnementalu's action in the Kanyaruchinya refugee camp made it possible to train and equip residents to create nurseries. Run by a community group made up of refugee men and women, these nurseries have had a significant impact on life in the camp: the sale of the trees provided income for residents and strengthened local food security, while improving camp environment
