When children plant trees

“A child who has planted a tree no longer looks at nature in the same way.” Thanks MUGHUNDA, Executive Director of Environnementalu; invites volunteer children and teachers to plant trees. A source of biodiversity, air conditioner, fruit producer, the tree also absorbs carbon from the atmosphere. What could be better than getting children involved in their plantations, making them aware of the parasites that affect plants, the impact of global warming on certain tree species, etc.? Fight against global warming

In Goma, the tree planting operation by children is part of the “Shrub and Plant Cover Project for the banks of Lake Kivu” led by Environnementalu. “It’s about giving 720 hectares back to nature,” explains Thanks Mughunda. Since 2022, Environnementalu has been inviting volunteer CE2 classes to plant trees. The shared technical services of the city and the intercommunity lead the planting sessions.
